L’esperienza vissuta negli ultimi due anni (pandemia e conseguenti lockdown) ha coinvolto tutti in varia misura
costringendoci a svolgere lavori, a mantenere rapporti, a gestire la quotidianità prevalentemente a distanza.
Una simile condizione, che potremmo definire distopica, nel futuro potrebbe ripresentarsi o divenire normalità, determinando la necessità di ripensare alcuni aspetti del vivere.
L’essere umano, la specie che meglio fino a oggi ha sfruttato l’evoluzione (per lo meno sul nostro pianeta), si è dotato nel tempo di strutture e sovrastrutture per organizzare la società, per assecondare le proprie necessità, per soddisfare i propri desideri. Alla base di tutto vi è l’organizzazione sociale, in termini di rapporti, di regole più o meno condivise, di riti che nelle varie culture umane hanno elementi di distinzione e altri ricorrenti, aspetti comuni e altri di differenziazione.
Questo sito web presenta 11 progetti di speculative design che intendono far riflettere su come alcuni riti umani potrebbero adattarsi a un simile scenario, come fossero condizioni di una (nuova) normalità. Gli output sono esperienze mediate da dispositivi comunicativi che consentono di svolgere e partecipare a rituali individuali o collettivi a distanza, reinterpretando modalità sedimentate in un contesto contemporaneo o, meglio, in un presente alternativo. The experience of the last two years (with the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns) has affected everyone to varying degrees forcing us to perform jobs, keep relationships and manage everyday life mainly from a distance. Such dystopian cyrcumstances could reoccur in the future, leading to the necessity of rethinking certain aspects of living. The human being, the species that has best exploited evolution (at least on our planet), has acquired over time structures and superstructures to organise society, satisfy their needs and desires. At the basis there is social organisation, in terms of relationships, rules that are more or less shared, rituals that in the various human cultures have elements of distinction and others of recurrence. Retuals presents 11 speculative design projects that aim to make us reflect on how certain human rituals might adapt to such a scenario, as if they were conditions of a (new) normality. The outputs are experiences mediated by communicative devices that allow people to perform and participate in individual or collective rituals at a distance, by reinterpreting procedures that have settled in a contemporary context or, better, in an alternative present.
